FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH
FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH
The congregation of the FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH (then known as the Faith Missionary Baptist Church) began meeting in August of 1963. After a successful ministry in Des Moines, Iowa, Rev. James F. Barnes came to Indianapolis to be the first pastor of the new church. The church was organized in April of 1964 and assembled in a union meeting hall temporarily until phase one of the church building was completed. The congregation numbered well over 400 and two additions we built to their building during the ministry of Pastor Barnes. After 27 years of faithful service Pastor Barnes retired from the pastorate and began a ministry of pulpit supply.
In December of 1989, the church called Dr. Larry Groves as their pastor. As the world-wide ministry of the church continues, Pastor Groves leads the church on in their conviction of preaching the King James Bible, international and domestic missions, and personal soul winning. Today the church hopes to build a new auditorium and add new ministries to reach more souls for Christ Jesus in their new location north of Greenfield in Maxwell, Indiana.
